- Generic desktop articles (computer, keyboard, mouse) can be bought with the groups desktop computing budget code. Specific equipment for projects or limited use require a corresponding budget code, e.g. the section budget code of the requester. It is advised to get the agreement of your section leader or supervisor before a purchase.
- Goto the BTE desktop support page on the CERNService Portal: https://cern.service-now.com/service-portal?id=service_element&name=BTE-internal-computing-support and choose one of the proposed actions.
- Fill in the request with the required material. Choose the group BE-ICS and budget code 72355. The CERN stores catalogue with complete descriptions can be found in EDH: (usually part of code 80: https://edh.cern.ch/edhcat/Browser?command=changeTopNode&argument=253148)
- Once the request is sent, a SNOW ticket will be created where the requester may follow up the progress. The EDH MAG request will be sent to the BE-ICS desktop (72355) budget holder (=Uwe) who will forward the document for signature to the supervisor of the requestor. He/she may then approve (or deny) the purchase.
- The progress of the Computer Request can be followed up via the SNOW ticket, the requester will be informed personally once the equipment arrives
