The BE-ICS-CE (Controls Engineering) section develops and integrates a comprehensive turn-key or customised industrial control solutions with CERN standard components in the field of process control, interlocks and supervisory control.
The section provides the following services:
- Entry point for incidents and requests on industrial controls
- Manages changes and upgrades
- Attends operational committees and meetings
- Organises piquet service
- Performs first level diagnostics and repair, manages spare part stock
- Escalates issues and requests to other sections or external service providers if necessary
- Develops applications with standard building blocks
- Maintains applications
- Development of new bigger applications in project form, in collaboration with other sections
- Responsible for advanced controls and simulation activities
